This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 01, 2009:
Growing up I lived next to the largest fresh water lake in the world, lake superior. It is always cold, even in the heat of the summer. I would work in a cafe, and in the tourst season, the hot summers, it would be busy, there would always be many stressful problems that would arive, and accasionally i would work a 12 hour shift or so. At the end of this I'd cary all of the swet of the day, and all of my anger towards rude customers, and I would walk to the lighthouse.
There I would sit for a few moments and look at the lights of my small town, and then i would look up at the bright stars. I would leap into the icy cold water, the few seconds of submersion would feel like an minutes, it would reach ever part of my body with shocking cold. Everything inside me wanted out of the water. Climbing out, getting hold of the ladder, and climibing into the cool air. Now feeling warm in comparison to the water. Every stress from the day disapeared, and life was beatiful again.
I feel free in my lake.
